We are one episode away from the finale where the story brings the cast together to eliminate the baddies. But it’s no easy feat, as our heroine comes to realize, because the closer they are in tying up the loose ends, the faster they are in saying goodbye. She is not prepared to learn of our hero’s relationship status, and doubly not prepared to admit her feelings for him. It’s a whole mixed bag of fun- action, brooding and laughter. Always the laughter.
This episode came in at a rating of 15.1 in Bangkok, maintaining its steady, if not incrementing number. The ending came in at 16.1, woot, can’t wait to get there! So without further ado..

Episode 10 Recap
Namwarn stays good with her promise to take Rose Sudawadee down from her superstar podium. The night prior, she had spied Rose making out with her manager and lawyer intern in the condo’s hallway. She posts the clip on the internet and practically becomes giddy at how much it has made its wave.
Rose meanders through the lobby, unawares of her folly the night prior. She spots her spiteful former manager, who scolds her to act a little classier when staying at a high-end condo. Thinking none of it, Rose rushes to her car- to head to the awards ceremony- but a hoard of paparazzi’s stop her to question whether the lady in the clip is indeed hers. Shocked at the picture of her kissing Preuk, Rose immediately denies (albeit wide eyed), but the reporters’ claim that that is the same shirt she wore on the picture she had uploaded to Instagram. Caught! Rose drives off in a flurry to avoid further questioning, only to find out that is only the first taste of her scandal’s repercussions.
Reurng and Khun Palat share their evidence (video clip) from the hired hand turned victim, who had been killed by Sia Gampon’s minion. The video incriminates the Sia by visual and voice, the hired hand was given a wad of payment for his failed work and he tells the minion to apologize to the Sia on his behalf. The minion tells him not to worry about the Sia because he’s a powerful man, even if he is under suspicion, no one could harm him. Next clip shows the minion silencing the hired hand.
Dao Reurng laments the video is substantial evidence to take Sia Gampon down, but the Director thanks Khun Palat instead for retrieving the video from the hired hand who had tried to escape despite agreeing to work with the police. Khun Palat smiles and says they should thank Dao Reurng instead because she distrusts the victim’s cooperation and decides to trail after him to ensure he honors his tail end the bargain. Khun Palat further surmises that sometimes her way of viewing the world pessimistically has its benefits. Heh.
The Director thanks her tritely but Reurng tells him to change his appreciative words to a form of payment instead. Not a totally bad gig to help the nation and get paid for it. She has her cake and gets to eat it too.
Rose arrives at the awards ceremony and things continue to go downhill for her. She sees her manager again, along with her new successor, where she learns the full brunt of her “scandalized behavior.” She is scheduled to be the recipient of a Ministry’s award. However this morning the elders tried to get a hold of her to no avail, wanting to resolve the rumor mills, yet Rose is unavailable to take the call since she claims she had been at her doctor’s office with a headache.
She’s about to experience more things to induce further headaches in the next few days- according to her former manager. Because her award has been rescinded by the elders. People who receive said award must be a positive representation of her sponsor; therefore they can’t have anyone who has recently been scandalized. Not only has she been caught “kissing someone” but caught kissing him by her room, which inevitably presumed to end with a nightcap.
Rose defends that it is a misunderstanding but the damage is done.
It extends all the way to Don Pattana, where Khun Palat, her man, sees the picture on the newspaper. Even though the article indicates ‘lady R’ as the celebrity, everyone knows what R stands for. Reurng is enjoying her free ice cream (that Khun Palat is treating her to after a meal) and notices his troubled expression. She thinks he’s just one of Rose’s fan. But the man Rose is kissing looks mightily familiar..
Things get even more curious for Reurng. Khun Palat takes a call from someone named Rose and it doesn’t sound like a happy one. After the niceties are out of the way, Rose asks him if he isn’t going to ask her about the truths surrounding that clip. She explains that the man in the picture is her new manager but he’s a freelance (because that’s supposed to make it better, right?) Furthermore, the night prior she had been drunk and he was dropping her off- and she kissed him to thank him. Just a chaste kiss, the kind that you give to a friend, yunno. It didn’t mean anything. He must believe her because she and Preuk aren’t anything to each other.
Khun Palat is silent because it does mean something to him and it’s not the first time she has uttered Preuk’s name. Jin recalls their phone call earlier when she had mistaken him for Preuk. He tells her pointedly that he believes her- but trust is not as important as love- and he wants her to consider whether she still loves him. Ouch.
Reurng is slack jawed, she just learned that Khun Palat is indeed Khun Rose’s boyfriend.
The team (Reurng, Wan and Khun Palat) put their heads together to plot their next move to take down Sia Gampon once and for all. It’s another area on the map that Wan is confident he could guide with his eyes close. But his curiosity is peaked and he’s distracted when Reurng and Khun Palat mentioned a previous area where they were chased by a dog. Wan wants to know who-what-when-where-why. It sounds like an inside secret that he is not privy of- and when it comes to his Nong Reurng- he wants to know everything. Ha. But of course, his wishes are ignored.
The following morning Reurng rushes over to Khun Palat’s house calling out his name. She’s overjoyed: her ducks laid a dozen eggs! As they stand in the duck pen, Khun Palat encourages her to sell them or use them to cook, but Reurng refuses, wanting to raise the babies. She starts to name them with names starting with the letter “d” after her. But Khun Palat laughs, indicating that these are female ducks and without any male ducks abound, they cannot produce chicks. Heh.
And finally, Preuk is home! Reurng and Momma Banchen are overjoyed as they all run into his arms. Khun Palat watches on with a smile, but when he gets introduced to Preuk, his face pales with the mention of his name.
Things continue to go downhill for Rose. She loses her contracts and sponsors, and her clip is plastered on every newspaper and magazine known to Thailand. Reporters also stalk her at every turn. She decides the best damage control is to disappear for awhile, this also offers the opportunity to come to an understanding with her man. And we learn that his mom supports her decision as well.
Four to five hours later, Rose arrives to Don Pattana. Wan and his gang are in the market and they see a magazine cover of Rose kissing a man. Wan is a fan too and declares it would be great if his Nong Leurng could kiss him like that too. He wonders if he would have the opportunity like that non-dara (celeb) who kissed Rose- but his minions remind him that she’s a star, she lives in Bangkok, so there’s no way in hell she would come to Don Pattana. Ha.
Much to their surprise (pleasant surprise) Rose saunters over to them to ask where the ministry office is. They quickly follow her to the town hall, where they discover that this Miss Rose is here to see her fiancé Khun Palat.
Preuk shows off his cooking skills to his sister and she declares his talent hasn’t declined since living in Bangkok- he must have a lot of time cooking for the ladies. Heh. Momma Bancheun tells her to stop tasting Khun Palat’s food and to deliver the dishes to him promptly. Reurng hems and haws that she doesn’t want to go, her cousin Little Pian teases her about her recent change of behavior towards Khun Palat- and her brother challenges her that if she doesn’t feel anything towards the deputy, then she should deliver the food.
And so she does, but she can’t hide the disappointment and heart break (to herself and to us) upon delivering the food, and learning that Khun Palat not merely has a girlfriend, but a fiancée. Suddenly, things sound a lot more permanent, and all the more real to her. As Kamjorn says, that is why Khun Palat doesn’t have his eyes on any ladies in Don Pattana.
I really like the following brooding period for our heroine, it really shows that she has developed feelings for our deputy, probably even loves the man who has come to mean more to the village and to her. Reurng drives off to the pond where they would let the ducks play in the water. She thinks about his phone call with Rose and how Rose suddenly appeared.
Wan doesn’t let this opportunity to rub things in slide. He finds her at the pond and shares the hot news with her. But he doesn’t get the shocking factor he needs, because Reurng says that Khun Palat ought to have a girlfriend by now, he’s old and it’s not surprising. Wan declares that he and Khun Palat are in the same boat, they both have ladies in their hearts (the difference is that Khun Palat does NOT have Reurng in his heart- to which Reurng frowns.) She stomps off, leaving the boys coming up with their own (wrong) conclusions again. They think because they didn’t get a rise out of her, that means she doesn’t have any feelings for Khun Palat- and therefore she loves Wan. Lol.
The arrival of Rose surprises Khun Palat as well as she throws her arms around him. He sheepishly pats her on the back and they make up, he tells her he’s not mad at her. Turns out, she is staying at his house that only has one bedroom and hence one bed. Rose doesn’t mind, and seems to love the idea, but Khun Palat is reticent. Apparently, even though things are “ok” with them, things have already changed.
Rose is curious to learn if he has a young lady who appears to be a feisty one bring him food all the time? Just simply at the thought of Reurng, Khun Palat smiles secretly.
But our girl is not so happy, she’s withdrawn, quiet, sad. She asks her brother at the duck pen whether two people in close quarters together could be unconsciously careless with each other (she’s referring to the act of losing in the moment with each other.) P’Preuk tells her that it all depends on the relationship of that couple, whether they are friends or an item. Reurng says what if they are an item? P’Preuk replies that it all lies on whether each person is ready- but being ‘pler jai’ can happen at any given moment. Hm, not the best consolation for Reurng.
And I love how in this show, two people could be talking, but their expressions say two entirely different things. For example, after asking this question, P’Preurk asks her if she’s experiencing love. But Reurng balks and says that she saw this in a lakorn, the main guy is such a gentleman and he doesn’t ever touch the main girl, and she wants to know that in reality, if it’s really possible. Yet we know what she’s referring to.
Then she turns the table on him and asks if he has a girlfriend. Preurk uncomfortably says that he could barely support himself, he doesn’t want additional burden. Yet his face wavers because we know that it’s totally not the case. He’s in love with a celebrity but thinks he’s inferior.
The two look away, lost in their own debacles.
Khun Palat is indeed acting the gentleman, even with his fiancé walking to him in his button down shirt as her pj, and telling him to go to bed with her, he resists. He even goes the extra mile to ask his assistant to play chaperone and spend the night with them, relegating himself to sleep on the couch. Explaining to his curious assistant that he’s not yet ready to do what his assistant is thinking about. He’s probably just not ready to do it with her. Heh, since she’ not the right person he’s currently thinking about.
They leave early the next morning without a word to Rose, whom seems to be relieved. Aw, everyone in this drama has ‘mouth that is not straight with their hearts.’
Momma Bancheun and bro notices Reurng’s quiet withdrawal and wonder why she’s acting this way, but can’t seem to piece the puzzle together.
As the team outline their move, even Khun Palat notices that Reurng’s distant. The Director is ordering more officers to stake out each area, they will be capturing concrete evidence (government’s trees) that Sia Gampon is plotting to deliver the trees to the bordering country. Sia is arrogant that he won’t be caught, despite the latest debacle against him. Khun Palat asks for Reurng’s feedback on their plan but Reurng could only ignore him and nod her head. Khun Palat questions if she was feeling well- and she tells him she’s fine- just probably not as good as someone around here. Oh, trading barbs. She’s so jealous and she doesn’t even know it. Ha.
Rose goes to the market to replace her wardrobe (she had been escaping the media and came straight to Don Pattana without packing a bag.) On her way, she finds more of her pictures splattered on newspapers and magazines. As she finally found the right shop that is redeemable in fashion sense, she gets a call from the culprit that caused her to hightail out of Bangkok: Preurk. He’s surprised that she kept his number on her phone, Rose relents that she thought about deleting it, but decides to keep it just in case. She proceeds to lie that she’s totally fine about the news, life is great, as a matter of fact, she’s currently shopping at the mall. Yet she gets busted on her lies as he spots her from across the street at the market.
She drags him away to have a private conversation. This is when she finally rips into him that it’s his entire fault that she had to get out of dodge. Preuk apologizes that he didn’t intend for things to turn out the way they did. Rose says that it’s all good because Bangkokers will forget this (which is true, another scandal usually takes the spot.) And she tells him to forget everything that happened too. And she hopes that the province is big enough to prevent them from meeting again. He has yet to know that she came here to see her fiancé..
Reurng spies Sia Gampon’s SUV turning into Gamnan Pan’s home. She follows to eavesdrop. Sia gets straight to his point and ask Gamnan to open the way for him to deliver his trees. At first Gamnan says that his trees are legal anyway, he shouldn’t be concerned. But Sia confesses that this time, he wants to chop down Payoong trees (state trees), he wants Gamnan to assent, and if not, he would go to other cooperative Phoo Yais.
Reurng seeks the Director with the news, who calls Khun Palat that they need to make a move today. And this sets the start of our action scenes for the rest of this episode.
Wan confronts his family that he’s going to be on the side of the good guys, he will fight for his country. He scorns his father for supporting the baddies. His mothers are afraid for him (Mer is really proud of Wan) and they support Gamnan for turning the other cheek for the last time. There’s a lot on the line for the Gayansoi, they owe a debt to Sia Gampon and they may lose everything if they don’t let Sia get away.
Khun Palat rushes over to Reurng at the scheduled time and he asks her (angrily) where she got the news, assuming that she would risk her life to spy again. She spites that it’s her life, he shouldn’t meddle. But he grabs her wrist- which is awesome because it shows he cannot contain himself when he’s around her- and Reurng peers at his hand holding hers, he releases and asks her, ‘these last few days, what did I do wrong? Why are you mad at me?’ Reurng denies it, but Khun Palat senses the change in their friendly relationship.
Before they could talk further, Wan appears in his military garb again, ready for battle. Lol. He declares that they (him and Reurng) should get married the same time as Khun Palat. Reurng facial expression changes at the sound of that, but she recovers and tells him to survive first and they can talk. Ah, her reactions are so telling, and I’m wondering if anyone would notice?
The group splits up to their designated spots: meeting up with Khun Palat and Wan are the police force and Kamjorn.
Meanwhile Mer rushes to Reurng to report that Sia Gampon is preparing to kill off the entire police force who are after him, there are guns, bombs, war weapons. Reurng questions on Mer’s news source, but Mer declines to tell. Hm. Mer is concerned on Wan’s life, which stirs Reurng to action. She grabs her weapon and takes off. Her mother runs out hoping to give her food to deliver to Khun Palat’s ‘guest’ at home.
The group is at the wood mill and Wan wonders why they don’t just go in and arrest everyone, why are they allowing them to cut down the trees. Khun Palat wants to go straight for the real culprit- even if they go in now, if the baddies scatter, they don’t have enough manpower to go after them, especially being so close to the border.
Therefore they need to catch them on their delivery route to Don Rom Chaang. They spy the trucks leaving the wood mill and make haste after them. At the border, the police stops the truck, and the baddies hand over a wad of cash, hoping to bribe the cops. But it doesn’t work, not knowing that they’re on to him. The cops search the trucks and realize that it is Payoong tree, Khun Palat and his gang appear from the other side. Upon spotting the Palat and director, the minion scramble, opening gunshots and police chase.
Momma Bancheun assigns Preurk to deliver the food instead, and this gets interesting. He sees Rose at Khun Palat’s house but before they could indulge in conversation, another of Sia’s minion shoots the food tray from under Preuk’s hand, thinking that he’s Khun Palat. The duo ducks and runs from the gunshots, confused as to why the baddies are after them. But they continue running, making their way into the woods.
I’ll say, sometimes the gunfire exchange is horribly aimless and reverberating everywhere, not hitting anything. And sometimes it’s deathly accurate. We also have people throwing themselves to protect their loved ones.
So for example, Preuk and Rose are in the woods, and she’s being completely terrified and unhelpful. She watches with horror at Preuk battling with the minion, watching him get beaten to a pulp. As he pulls Rose out of the way, the minion aims for Rose, but Preuk throws his body in front of her, getting shot in the chest.
The other minion that is chased by Khun Palat calls Sia Gampon and reports the turning in events. The man is livid and turns his car around to search for them. Reurng is on their tail too.
The truck comes to a stop and each side exchange more inaccurate gunfire. But Wan gets hit on the head with the rearview mirror and he thinks he got shot. Lol. He screams in agony until Khun Palat told him that he didn’t get hit. He immediately gets up in anger and shoots at the perpetrators. Khun Palat tells him to cover him as he sneaks around back. With team work, they circle the baddies and accurately shoots them to the ground. But one of them isn’t down completely and aims for Khun Palat, but Wan throws Khun Palat to the ground in time. The baddie continues his aim, but our heroine shows up and saves the day!
The crazy Sia Gampon actually pulls his truck over and kills his employee to silence him. The trio had been trying to convince him to be a witness but too late. Khun Palat jumps into Reurng’s back seat and takes off with her (although he balked at having her go with him – she tells him to trust her.) Wan hollers after them for leaving him.
And the next scene is hilarious. One of the cops notices that Wan’s ass is bleeding, they ask him if he’s ok. Wan sulks and says that he’s fine, but the cop told him to go to the hospital. Upon seeing his own blood, he pales and exclaims, ‘my ass got shot’ and blacks out. LOL.
Back in the woods, Preuk had been shot. The minion isn’t about to quit. He wants them both dead. They battle it out again, Preuk is getting his ass beat and Rose could only stand there screaming. It makes you scream at her to DO something! At the last minute of course, she finally does, depositing two bullets into the minion. She drops the gun and cries that she killed someone. Seeming to be in shock, Preurk consoles her that she had to do it- she saved his life.
Reurng and Khun Palat follow Sia Gampon, who still thinks he’s untouchable, until he sees them cutting him off. They tell him to turn himself in, but he claims he didn’t do anything wrong, so Reurng lists his crimes.
And I don’t know how he got a gun in his hands when his hands were free earlier, but Sia Gampon shoots at Reurng immediately when he got tired of hearing her talk. Luckily, Khun Palat throws his body in front of her, getting shot in the back of the shoulders. See a parallel anyone?
Sia tries to shoot again but Reurng uses her rubber weapon to shoot at his hand, then the two surround him with their guns. Nowhere to run and hide now, Sia.
On their walk through the woods, Rose gets her feet cut up, Preuk sacrifices his flip flop for her, then a few seconds later, just loses consciousness and falls to the ground. Rose is screaming and crying at him to wake up..
Night falls, everyone finds out about the several gunshot wounds: Wan got shot in the ass (I can’t stop laughing about this), Khun Palat is shot as well. Momma Bancheun shares the news, unaware that her own son was shot as well.
Upon visiting Wan at the hospital, they lifted the sheet to review Wan’s ass. Ha. The wives place the blame on Pappa Gamnan who sided with the baddies for financial reasons. Wan says he almost died, if it weren’t for Reurng. The crowd whispers, wondering how Reurng would know. So Mer comes to Gamnan’s rescue and explains to everyone that he had been the one to alert her so she could tell Reurng, and therefore the police force. Everyone glaces at Gamnan with reverence. Gamnan says that he may have made a mistake in the past, but moving forward, he refuses to be duped by anyone anymore. The wives throw their arms around him.
Reurng and her Momma learns that Khun Palat is safe and they can breathe a sigh of relief. She peaks into his room just to make sure that he is alive. She watches him in tears as the wind tickles his hair.
She tells her mom that he took a bullet for her, to which Little Pian surmises that he must really love her, because even Little Pian wouldn’t sacrifice his own body to save someone. Ha. Soon after, a gurney with Preuk gets rolled into the hospital. They see Rose crying and realizes it’s their brother/son who also took a bullet for Rose. Little Pian once again draws on the parallel and similarities between Rose-Preuk and Reurng-Palat. Momma tells him to shut it, but he’s actually the only perceptive one. Ha.
Reurng tells Rose that her Jin got shot and she should be concerned about him too. Reurng stays the night with Rose at Khun Palat’s house. She tends to Rose’s scrapes and cuts- Rose is touched- seeing the kindness and generosity from Reurng.
They have a quick chat. Rose assumes Reurng and Khun Palat are close, but Reurng explains that they are more like enemies. When he was first here, she gave him a run for his money. Rose surmises that Reurng must be the obstacle that he told Rose about. They both apologize to each other for causing harm to people they care about. ‘You are lucky to have a good brother..’ and ‘You are lucky to have a good fiancé.’ Aw, not realizing that each is wishing to be in the other’s shoes.

Brief Comments:
Lots of parallels made in this drama, both of our pairings essentially go through similar experiences, coming out conflicting in the same area. I’m guessing they are going to be fighting their feelings and pretending that nothing has changed, when everything has.
It’s an episode to tie up the baddies and get the action out of the way. Now we have a full episode to focus on the relationship aspect of the story and find out how these pairings will realize that they are not the same anymore and cannot go on living the way they used to.
So I’m not going to delve too much in commentating for this episode, as the episode is a means to an end, I’m just ready to jump to the final hurrah for this lakorn.
